Nassington is a thriving village with a choice of two excellent pub/restaurants, a post office, general store, wine shop, local butcher and school. The Prebendal Manor is an early 13th Century listed building and is reputed to be the oldest inhabited house in Northants with a medieval garden to the rear.  The local church contains 15th Century wall paintings.

Walking 

This area once formed part of Rockingham Forest and the Wildlife Trust maintain an area of woodland nearby as a Nature Reserve. The Nene Way provides a riverside walk to Yarwell Mill and the Nene Valley Steam Railway which runs into Peterborough.

Cyclists are catered for at Fairlands by providing secure cycle storage and drying facilities for wet clothes.

The Green Millenium wheel is a set of cycle routes surrounding Peterborough or alternatively bicycles can be hired at nearby Rutland Water with a defined track around the perimeter of the reservoir.

Fishing. 

Bluebell Lakes near Fotheringhay provide excellent fishing locally and the River Nene and other watercourses provide further opportunity for the keen angler. Rutland Water is a renowned fresh water fishery and is a short drive away.
