John and Ann are both trained artists and have travelled extensively. The décor reflects these interests by combining traditional features with prints and objects from around the world.

During restoration of the house in the 1970's a ledger was discovered secreted in the inglenook fireplace. The book is a record of an early occupant of the house, William Walter, and is separated into two main sections :
       The Timber Merchant's Account   1796-1806
       The Farmer's Account                1832-1833
